Petersen Park Recreation Camp

Tremonton, Utah

Petersen Park is located in Tremonton, Utah. Bear River runs next to the camp and can be used for fishing or canoeing. This is a privately owned camp used for Young Women’s Camp, Scout Camp, and Family Reunions. You have to make a reservation to camp here. There are four areas that can be reserved depending on the size of your group. They are called, The Bowery, Beavers Cove, Little Nauvoo, and Fisherman’s Nook.

Petersen Park has nature trails, horse shoe pits, an archery range, and a large grassy area for volleyball or other activities. The restrooms have flush toilets, and showers with a separate room with sinks and electrical outlets. The restrooms are well kept. There is a dumpster and Drinkable water in every site.

The Bowery has a capacity for 150-175 people. It has a pavilion that includes, a fridge, 6 raised dutch oven cooking stations and electrical outlets. There is a water fountain and water spigot. Self contained trailers can be parked next to the Bowery but not on the grass. The grassy area around the pavilion is for tents.

Beaver Cove has a capacity for 80-100 people.  Parking for Beaver Cove is marked,  the side closest to the river is for parking and the other side is the grassy area for activities and cannot be parked on. Self contained trailers can be parked in the designated area. Beaver Cove has a fire pit, picnic tables and a couple of water spigots.  There are a couple of large areas for tents and a hiking trail is at the back of the campsite.

Little Nauvoo is the first campsite you pass as you enter  Petersen Park. The suggested capacity is 30-40 people. It has 2 water spigots, picnic tables, and a fire pit. One of the water spigots has a water fountain attached to it. Little Nauvoo is the farthest camp from Bear River and only tents are allowed.

Fisherman’s Nook is next to the Bowery and it has seven individual campsites that are meant for smaller groups and families. All seven sites can be reserved by one group and the capacity for all of Fisherman’s Nook is 85-100 people. No trailers are allowed only tents. Each site comes with a fire pit and a water spigot. Some of the sites have stone tables. Board Walk Trail is next to site #5 and the Archery Range is next to site #7.
